Ceremony 2015
On Thursday, April 16th during the Awards Ceremony and Dinner at the State Gymnasium No.2, the winners of the Human Development Award 2015 were announced: Jūrmala Protection Association, subsidiary of Tautskola 99 Baltie zirgi „Ikšķiles Brīvā Skola", "Ronald McDonald House Charities Latvija" Care Mobile and Andris Čeksters (Radām novadam and Ideju Aakadēmija).
he winners received custom-made sculpture "Sprout" designed by artist
Olga Silova, an Award certificate and other special prizes by the
program partners and sponsors. The U.S. Embassy awarded winners with a
grant worth 500 USD to be put towards the organizations' future
projects. The Civic Alliance of Latvia provided the opportunity for
winners to take part in the NGO summer academy. Other special prizes
were presented by Citadele Bank, Microsoft Latvia and the Civic Alliance
of Latvia.
Joining as keynote speakers were Marite Seile,
Minister of Education and Science, Sharon Hudson-Dean, Charge D'Affaires
U.S. Embassy and Inna Šteinbuka, Head of the European Commission Office
in Latvia.
