From 2014 to 2019, the Human development award has been hosted by American Chamber of commerce in Latvia, Civic Alliance - Latvia and U.S. Embassy in Latvia. Starting from 2020, Human development award will be hosted by Civic Alliance – Latvia and U.S Embassy Latvia.

According to expresident of Latvia, HE Raimonds Vējonis, "The Human Development Award covers many relevant long-term development areas for Latvia, while each nomination highlights significant work to the benefit of community by a person, company, or organization. I am pleased for each and every contribution, in addition to recognizing how great, smart, and entrepreneurial people reside in Latvia!"
